Most of us would love to ride a large and expensive SUV in our lives and especially when it’s this beautiful orange colored 2019 Bentley Bentayga. You would gradually expect to get some attention with this car. However, there are certain things that you should know about this ride. This full-size SUV hybrid makes for a surprisingly sedate ride.
In case you didn’t know Bentayga is Bentley’s first SUV model. Not just that, but it also happens to be the first hybrid vehicle from the company. According to the company:
“first step towards electrification.”
This hybrid model is basically the fourth iteration of the line, which was first launched in the UK and US in 2015. It has W12 gas, V8 diesel, and V8 gas alternates.
The model is known to come with a turbocharged 335 hp, 3 liter V6 paired with a 94kW (126 hp) electric motor. It puts out a combined 443 horses when used together. The vehicle can be run by using just the gas engine to recharge the battery. Being a plug-in hybrid, you can also charge Bentayga’s battery directly. You can actually use a household outlet in 7.5 hours or in just under 3 hours while utilizing a 220V power supply.
When fully charged, the vehicle can offer you with 30 miles of electric range. On a test drive, we discovered that the operating features such as preconditioning the vehicles’ interior climate drain the charge at an increased rate. Even in a city such as San Francisco, 30 miles is short enough to offer severe range anxiety.
As pointed out by Bentley res, if worst comes to worst, the gas engine will simply come to kick in for some time until the battery is refreshed. The navigation feature is known to provide a map overlay which is referred to as the ‘fried egg’ by Bentley’s design team due to its shape. It shows you how far you can go with its electric power.
Even the built quality of the vehicle is up to the mark. It can be said that the car is opulence personified.
